The Los Angeles Times Food Bowl presents Feast of Sichuan, a 6-course Chinese dinner by Yu Bo of Yu's Family Kitchen -- as seen on "Mind of a Chef" with Danny Bowien -- Lynn Liu of Szechuan Impression, and Tian Tian Qiu of Hip Hot Restaurants. All three restaurateurs hail from Chengdu City in Sichuan Province. Renowned writer of Sichuanese cook books, Fuchsia Dunlop, also recently seen on "Mind of a Chef", will be the MC of the evening.


This will be the first time Chef Yu will host a public dinner in America. The 6+ course dinner will feature famous Chengdu street food as well as modern Sichuan-style Chinese entrees. Sichuan Impression dished out one of Times' restaurant critic Jonathan Gold's favorite bite during last year's Food Bowl, and Hip Hop was recently graced by a glowing Mr. Gold's review.

There may be pork, offals, shellfish, as well as soy, gluten, peanuts and tree nuts; substitutions will be unavailable. Welcome punch will be served by Apotheke, the latest Chinatown LA mixology bar. Beer pairings will be offered by one of Chinatown's newest tennants: Highland Park Brewery.
